For reaching Shillong, NEC members may first arrive at Guwahati by train or air.  From Guwahati, it is 3-4 hours journey by road only.  From Guwahati airport, one may take a taxi to reach Shillong (fare Rs. 300/- per head) or may come to Guwahati city and then take taxi to reach Shillong (fare Rs. 190/- per head).  In Guwahati city, one may also report to ACTA (Assam College Teachers’ Office in Pan Bazar), where the ACTA members will arrange transport to Shillong.  Contact Shri Apurba Kr.  In Shillong, NEC meeting will be held at St. Anthony’s College, though the accommodation will be arranged elsewhere.  Therefore keep contact with following persons as you reach Guwahati and start for Shillong:

 The NEC Meeting will start at 10.30 a.m. St. Anthony’s College Auditorium, Shillong on 06-07-2009 and expected to be over by 1.00 p.m. 

 There will be open session of the NEC Meeting at 2.00 p.m. onwards where Minister for Higher & Technical Education, Government of Meghalaya, will be present along with all the members of the Meghalaya College Teachers’ Association and some leaders of the fraternal trade unions/associations.  The open session will be followed by a short (approximately 1 hour) cultural programme.
